Listing an item is developed in such a way as to be a self-guided process so every step is seamless.

To list your item, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Click on the “Sell” link found on the header navigational bar. The listing process is split into several main sections:

Category Selection
Item Details
Auction Settings
Shipping and Payment
Listing Preview
Listing Confirmation

Step 2: Select the category that most suits the item you wish to list for auction. This category may be revised at any time by clicking the “Previous Step” navigation button.

Step 3: Enter your item title and description. A full “what you see is what you get” (wysiwyg) editor is in place to enable you to use HTML descriptions.
Tip: If you have a voucher code to redeem, this may be entered just below the description field.

Step 4: At this step, this is where you will establish the type of Auction you want.

Select between the following types:

Standard – this type is for a single quantity auction.

Dutch – this type is available to list a multiple quantity auction. For example, if you have 100 pens to sell you would list all these together in a single bid lot. Bidders would be able to select the amount of the item and to make their bid based on the determined amount.

Currency

Select the preferred auction currency using the drop-down menu.

Quantity

This field will be active only if the “Dutch” auction type is selected. Please see the above explanation of this listing type.

Auction Starts At

This field will allow you to enter the minimum bid amount you are willing to accept for the item.

Reserve Price

Setting a ‘reserve” price means you effectively establish the price to sell the item for and no less than the amount set. For example, you set the reserve at 50.00, should the highest bid be 49.99, the item will close without a winning bid.

Buy-Out (if available)

Buy-Out allows you to establish the price amount you are willing to sell the item. For example, you may set the start price at 10.00, but offer the interested bidders the option to buy the item immediately for 100.00.

You can also list a Buy-Out Only auction. This auction removes the bidding options meaning the listing may only be made for the purchase price. To set a “Buy-Out Only” auction you will set the “buy-out” value to be exactly equal with the start bid.

Offer-Range (if available)
You may set a price-offer range for the item you are listing. By establishing amounts within the brackets, the bidder may state an amount and you are able to opt whether or not you accept or decline that bidder’s offer at any time via the Members area. For example, set the price brackets from 15.00 to 100.00 for all interested parties to bid within the guidelines of the bracket amounts.

Bid Increment

This option is available for you to set your preferred custom bid increment amount.

Item Feature (if available)

The following options are available for you to highlight your item on the site to ensure it will attract more visitors.

Set Start/End Time

You may either opt to list your item immediately and set a defined number of days for it to be “live” or you have the option to define your own custom start/end time.

You may use this option to hide the bidder’s identity on the item details page.

Image Upload

You may upload images to accompany your item to sell from either your home computer or to enter the URL of an image(s) hosted elsewhere.

Auto Re-List

For convenience, you may opt to have your items automatically re-listed. Options are available to allow you to select whether the item should be re-listed if not sold and how many times the re-list attempt(s) should be made.

Shipping/Payment Options

You may select your shipping and payment preferences, including shipping rates and available methods of delivery.

Tip: At any time, while the listing is “live” you may adjust or edit your listing selections as desired in the “Members” area.

To place a bid is an easy process. When viewing the item details, you will have 2 areas to place a bid – next to the item details and at the bottom of the page.

Enter the amount you wish to bid. For example, type 50.00, with no currency symbols needed. The bid will be automatically converted into the auction currency.

You will be prompted to review your bid where you can view vital items such as shipping conditions before confirming your bid. Click “Place Bid” to submit.

If your bid is high enough to take the lead in the auction, a confirmation message will be displayed to you; however, if your bid is not the lead due to a higher proxy or not meeting the reserve, you will be invited to make a different bid.

Go the “Current Bids” in the “Members” area in order to retract your bid if desired.

You may make a place a “proxy” bid. Proxy bidding allows you to place your “High” bid. At all time, you will pay only the lowest required bid should you win the auction. For example, if the current bid is 500.00, you may place a bid of 2000.00. If you remain the only bidder, you will only pay 500.00. Consequently, it the item should receive other bids, the site will automatically re-bid for you – (up to 2000.00 in this scenario) to ensure you remain in the lead.

The “auction watch” feature notifies you of newly listed auctions which contain your chosen keywords. For example, if you are looking for a new microscope, enter in specific keywords from within the “Members” area to alert you via email when the desired new auction is listed.

If the option is available, select “Buy Out” to purchase this item immediately without having placed a bid. Some sellers offer such an option which can be used at any time until a bid has been placed over any applicable reserve price.

The “Buy Out” feature will appear on the Item Details Page. You will be asked to confirm your intention to ‘buy out” the item before the sale is concluded. A confirmed “Buy Out” can not be retracted.

The “item watching” feature allows you to monitor an auction without having to place a bid on it. This feature allows you to be kept up to date on how the auction is progressing in order to place a last minute bid. For example, click on “Watch this Item” link on any auction page.
